Greg Norris

Director

Born and raised in Wellington, Greg has worked extensively across New Zealand and around the world designing and delivering events and experiences.

With a background and qualifications in Outdoor Education and Social Work, along with a huge passion for people and travel, there is no surprise that Greg created his dream job, and is one of the founders of 34°South.  

Greg’s reputation for his dedicated approach to designing the very best travel experiences is widely recognised.  You'll enjoy his creativity, intuition and sense of fun and adventure.  He'll work tirelessly to prepare and present itinerary ideas, that will exceed your dreams for your time in New Zealand.

Greg is also the Director of OneNineFive Ltd - a New Zealand company specialising in Corporate Incentive & Reward Programmes, Events and Group Travel Experiences.

Carlene Staines

Carlene’s knowledge and expertise in all things travel is quite simply, world class. Complimenting this is a personality often described by clients as caring, kind and generous.

Carlene has travelled extensively throughout New Zealand and around the world, and through this has developed huge 'travel intuition', which is of great benefit to designing customised client travel itineraries.

Early in her career Carlene was the owner-operator of the highly successful business ‘Adventure Travel’.  After selling this business, she went on to work as a senior project and event manager in Wellington, managing many complex and sophisticated events in New Zealand and throughout Asia, the South Pacific and the Americas.   

Carlene is also the Director of OneNineFive Ltd - a New Zealand company specialising in Corporate Incentive & Reward Programmes, Events and Group Travel Experiences.

Brendon Fyfe-Gits

An eye for detail, a love of spreadsheets, a quick wit and a deep understanding of all things financial. Brendon quashes the rumour that accountants are boring.

Brendon is a Chartered Accountant with years of experience working in senior roles both in New Zealand and overseas.  

Alongside his love of an excel spreadsheet is a deep love of travel, and his list of 'countries visited' is a long one.  Name a country, and chances are he's been there. He even got air-lifted out of Nepal once.

A deep understanding of the global financial market enables Brendon to take great care of the spend and investment that our clients make when travelling to New Zealand.

Luke Mikaire Crawford QSM

Cultural Advisor

Luke is a close friend to 34ºSouth Director Greg Norris and provides guidance and mentoring to the team in all matters pertaining to Māori culture and custom.

Of Ngāti Porou and Tūwharetoa tribal descent, Luke is a well respected and experienced Māori cultural advisor across private and public sector businesses and organisations.

Luke is currently the kaumatua (respected elder) to the Māori All Blacks Rugby team and has been traveling internationally with the them since 2012. He is also the kaumatua and cultural advisor to New Zealand Rugby which includes working with the All Blacks.

"The wisdom and guidance that Luke bought to our journey in New Zealand was something I will never forget.  I am so very deeply moved by the experiences I have had in New Zealand".

Mike Pennington

Creative Director & Guide

A creative mind, an eye for design and a passion for New Zealand makes Mike the perfect creative director for 34°South.

Mike is responsible for the overall the 'look and feel' of 34°South and the design and production of client itineraries and other materials.

His love of design is matched by a love of fishing, and we love it when he arrives in at HQ with a few fresh fillets for the team.

In March 2019, Tom travelled from the (very) far north to the far south to work with us on the delivery of Pure Pursuits New Zealand.

The coastal town of Alesund, Norway is home to Tom where is he the Manager of Boats for the luxury travel company 62NORD.

'Pure Pursuits' is a transformational 6 day journey for senior people from the global travel industry. Tom was a key member of the delivery team, and his work ethic and personality was a real inspiration to us.  

He may have returned to Norway, but he will forever be in our hearts, and on our website.

Malia Brock

Travel & Event Coordinator

Malia is based at the HQ of 34°South and will be across all aspects of your time in New Zealand.

Born in Oregon and raised on the island of Maui, Hawaii, Malia then completed a degree in Marketing at Western Washington University.  

After moving to New Zealand in 2017, Malia has been committed to building up experience in marketing, tourism and events and possesses that all-important 'customer service' gene that is key to 34°South.

Matty Warmington

If you want to capture aspects of your trip to New Zealand on video, Matty is your man.

Matty was born and raised in Wellington, New Zealand.  A talented guitarist, artist, tennis player and an all round super Dad with a massive knowledge of filming 'people and place', capturing those moments in time to treasure for the years to follow.
